Counseling Services

Mental Health Emergency

On-campus services are available to all Newberg-based students (traditional undergraduate students and graduate students in the PT, PA, OT and PsyD [virtual option only] programs) and both are free.

Virtual services are available from TimelyCare.

On-Campus Counseling Services

The Health and Counseling Center (HCC) welcomes all students to make an initial contact to discuss their concerns. We encourage all students to take advantage of this valuable service. The HCC utilizes a short-term model of therapy to assist students in addressing issues common in a college setting.

Scheduling an On-Campus Appointment

Counseling services are available for all George Fox students Monday through Friday by appointment only. Please call 503-554-2340, email (hcc@georgefox.edu) or visit in person to schedule an appointment.

Oregon Mental Health and Crisis Resources

Emergency Mental Health Procedures: Since we do not have round-the-clock medical and mental health care available at George Fox, please use the following emergency health procedures for students. During regular office hours, we recommend students contact the HCC to obtain assistance. However, when this office is closed, follow these guidelines:

On-Campus Students

Contact the student's RA or AC immediately. If their RA or AC is not available, call an AC from another living area. If no AC is available, call the Student Emergency Paging System at 503-554-2090 (ext. 2090) or dial 911.

Off-Campus Students

If a student feels like harming themselves or others, call the appropriate crisis number for their county (George Fox is in Yamhill County):

If these crisis numbers do not provide sufficient assistance, take the student to the nearest hospital emergency room or dial 911.
